   On February 22, 2012, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Jermaine Devonne Moore, age 37, of 1205 E Firetower Rd. Greenville and Gerri Lyn Craig, age 54, of 55 New St. Edward. Moore and Craig’s arrest stemmed from Investigators conducting controlled purchases of crack-cocaine from Moore. Investigators received information that Moore was living in Greenville and travelling to the Edward and Aurora area in Beaufort County to sell and distribute crack-cocaine.

   Investigators conducted surveillance of Moore and witnessed him in a passenger vehicle being operated by Geri Craig. Investigators along with members of the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop on Craig’s vehicle. K-9 Elza alerted on the vehicle and located two pill bottles containing crack-cocaine in the floorboard of the car. The pill bottles contained 59 dosage units of crack-cocaine that were prepackaged for resale and four dosage units of Suboxone (a Schedule III Controlled Substance). Investigators also seized drug packaging material from the vehicle.

   Jermaine Moore was charged with three counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Geri Craig was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. At the time of his arrest Moore was out on bond stemming from an arrest that occurred on August 8, 2011, in which Moore was charged with Driving While Impaired and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine. Moore was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $31,000 secured bond. Craig was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.
On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:

On January 27, 2025 Washington Police Department officers and Washington Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a wanted person. On October 27, 2025, 40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC left Superior Court in Beaufort County and failed to return.
On April 25, 2024, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jaleza Aneice Alexander on multiple drug charges.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received reports of multiple vehicle break-ins between December 6 th and December 9 th in the areas of Turkey Trot Rd., South Asbury Church Rd. and Magnolia School Rd. in Washington.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls from concerned parents regarding a past incident that occurred at Bath Elementary School. I would like to assure the public that there is no current threat of school violence.
On Saturday, October 11th, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence at 739 Cherry Rd, Washington NC for a 911 call reporting a male subject being shot.
On Sunday, September 21, 2025 at approximately 1900 hours, Washington Police Department units were dispatched to the 600 block of West 9th Street in reference to a possible shooting in progress.
On December 16 th the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Response Team along with officers from the Washington Police Department joined forces to arrest a subject wanted in Beaufort and Pitt County for ten outstanding warrants that included multiple felony charges.
