Construction Complete on New Automotive Storage Fence | Eastern North Carolina Now

    WASHINGTON, N.C.     Beaufort County Community College has wrapped up construction of a new fence for its automotive systems technology program. The program receives donated vehicles and purchases salvaged ones so that students can practice repairing and maintaining vehicles. The solid metal fence and will help to secure vehicles located outside of Building 2 and to keep the campus looking tidier.


    Ron Pledger of Dibble & Pledger designed the project, and Paul Woolard Construction fabricated the fence and gate, and installed double doors leading from the auto classroom to the storage area. Both companies are based in Washington.

    "We keep a variety of vehicles on campus for students to use as they develop their skills," said Bryan Van Gyzen, lead professor for automotive systems technology. "This will help us keep our clutter out of sight, and, really, it is expected of national certification programs, so this will help us achieve that goal."

    Paul Woolard Construction completed the project on February 25.
