    Priscilla Ann Jones Mayo, 81, of Washington, passed away at her residence on Friday, July 19,2019.

    She was born in Tyrrell County to the late Walter Alonzo and Maybel Cahoon Jones. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Mayo: daughter, Penny Mayo: brothers, Phillip Jones and Arnold Jones: and sisters, Eunice Brickhouse, Wilma Floyd, Dimple Taylor, Nellie Gray, and Doris Brickhouse.

    Priscilla in survived by her son, Neil C. Mayo and daughter, Valerie K. Mayo, both of Washington: brothers, Morris Jones of Creswell and Lawrence Jones of Columbia: sisters, Lucy Bateman and Judy Cahoon, both of Columbia: grandchildren Shannon Nicole Denny and Eric Sean Mayo and great grandchildren, Tyler Neil Denny and Landon Blake Denny.

    Priscilla will most be remembered for her love of family. Her children lovingly describe her as "the best mother in the world". While Thurman worked outside of the home, to provide financially for the family, she was a stay at home mom, providing love, nourishment and the groundwork for the adults they were to become. Later in life, she worked at Hamilton Beach and enjoyed spending her free time with her grandchildren. She was a giving wife, mom, sister and grandmother, who will be missed by many.

    Funeral Services will be in the chapel of Washington Funeral & Cremation Service, 4500 US Hwy 264E, at 12 p.m., on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 with Pastor Henry E. Gray officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30-12, prior to the service. Private Interment will be held at Azalea Memorial Gardens in Columbia, NC.

    Services are by Washington Funeral & Cremation, Hillside Chapel.
