Mr. Dalton Ray Alligood, Sr. | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Dalton Ray Alligood, Sr., age 60, a resident of 810 S. Asbury Church Road, Washington, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his home.

    A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his home, conducted Rev. Shad Watters. The family will receive friends after the service.

    Mr. Alligood was born in Beaufort county on October 11, 1951. He was the son of the late Harley Ray Alligood, Sr. and Margaret Lee Toler Alligood. Mr. Alligood was a master carpenter and "could build anything." He loved to draw and paint.

    Mr. Alligood is survived by his children, Juanita A. Davenport of Robersonville, Preston Ray Alligood and wife, Charlotte, of Middlesex, Dalton Ray Alligood, Jr. and wife, Lacey, Brandon Keith Alligood and wife, Shannon, Sally Marie Alligood Potter and husband, Harold all of Washington; brothers, Darrell Lee Alligood, Sr., Harley Ray Alligood, Jr. both of Washington, Hardy Gray Alligood of Chocowinity; sisters, Frances A. Boyd of Pinetown, Catherine A. Yortz, Joyce Alligood, Donna Alligood all of Washington, Lois A. Blackstock of Chocowinity; 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Alligood was preceded in death by a grandson, Dalton Ray Alligood III.
