Press Release:

Dear County Commissioners, Managers and Clerks:

Today, Governor Cooper issued an executive order that bans mass gatherings of more than 100 people and closes K-12 public schools across the state for two weeks beginning March 16. As mentioned earlier, we are in close contact with the Governor's office, NC Department of Health and Human Services and NC Emergency Management, among others, to facilitate coordination and communication in support of counties. We have created a COVID-19 resource page, which includes up-to-date and reliable information with helpful links to information about the virus, guidance for local health departments, law enforcement, links to template declarations, printable materials, and more. It's clear COVID-19 developments are rapidly evolving, and guidance is subject to change. Please keep checking for the latest updates.

Again, you are in our thoughts during this unprecedented time in our history. You each have a unique view of this situation. Please let us know your thoughts on how we can best advocate for you and how to assist our counties. The Association is in a position to relay those messages directly to state and federal leaders who are making decisions about how to best handle these developing situations.

Please take care and be in touch if we can help.

    Sincerely,

    Kevin

    Kevin G. Leonard, Executive Director
