The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center Announces Annual Cancer Survivors Day Event | Eastern North Carolina Now

For Immediate Release:

Washington, NC     The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center is hosting its 6th annual Cancer Survivors Day event on Sunday, June 10th at First Church of Christ. Doors will open at 1:30. The event, sponsored by the Shepard Cancer Foundation, is a local celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day, which is held each year in many communities around the world. This symbolic event demonstrates that life after a cancer diagnosis can be a reality. Survivors Day is a celebration of life and the Cancer Center would like to honor all cancer survivors on this special day. Caregivers are encouraged to attend as well.

This year’s event will feature the 3rd annual Survivors Got Talent variety show featuring local survivors and their caregivers. All survivors and caregivers are encouraged to participate by performing an act in the show. Need an idea of how to be a contestant – musical instruments, singing, skits, readings, comedy, magic, dance, or any other way that you can show how you CELEBRATE life. Light refreshments will be served and all survivors will receive a special gift.
