Debra Goldman Secures Republican Nomination for State Auditor | Eastern North Carolina Now

For Immediate Release:

Cary, NC     Debra Goldman can officially be declared the Republican nominee for North Carolina State Auditor. Her primary opponent relinquished his option for requesting a 2nd primary which would have been set for July 17th. Goldman received 34.35% of the total vote in the May 8th primary.

“Today, I commend my primary opponent Mr. Dority for helping unify the North Carolina Republican Party. I welcome his advice and support on the campaign trail, particularly in Eastern North Carolina,” stated the Goldman campaign. “For the next six months my plan is to get our message of restoring fiscal responsibility to state government out to as many North Carolinians as possible. I am thrilled to be officially joining the campaign trail with Pat McCrory and other true conservatives across our great state,” Goldman said.

“While serving as a leading member, and Vice-Chair of the largest public school system in North Carolina, I have always led in the fight to put reform ahead of partisanship. Some would call that being a “maverick,” and some have even called that being a “watchdog.” While I was leading that effort on a local level, I can safely say that I saw nothing of that kind of leadership in the higher levels of our state government. I have looked for evidence of leadership in Raleigh and found the offices of Governor and Auditor sorely lacking. I will accept the challenge. I want to bring this type of leadership to the Office of State Auditor.”
