To enroll at Beaufort County Community College:
· Complete an application for admission and return it to the BCCC Admissions Office in Building 9 on the college campus. You may complete this application online at www.beaufortccc.edu or by mail at BCCC Admissions Office, P.O. Box 1069, Washington, N.C. 27889. Applications are also available in the Admissions Office in Building 9 on the BCCC campus.
· If you are pursuing a degree from BCCC, you must have all required admission documents on file in the Admissions Office. These include a completed application for admission, an official high school transcript or GED scores and college transcripts, if applicable. If your official transcripts are not received by BCCC, you must have an unofficial copy of them before you can sign up for classes.
· If you are pursuing a degree, you must complete the College Placement Test, or CPT. Proof of completed college courses in math and English may be substituted for portions of the CPT and if you have taken the SAT or ACT within the last five years and obtained satisfactory scores as listed in BCCC’s online catalogue, you may waive testing. You can call the Admissions Office at 252-940-6237 to make an appointment to take the CPT. Note: It is important that you prepare for the CPT since your scores will determine your placement into either college or preparatory course work. A CPT study guide is available online at www.beaufortccc.edu/stdserve/testihg. After taking the CPT you will receive your test results and be assigned an academic advisor.
· Meet with your academic advisor to develop an educational plan and choose classes appropriate to your course of study.
· You must pay for classes in the Cashier’s Office on the second floor of Building 1. BCCC accepts MasterCard, Visa and checks. Note: if you have applied for financial aid and are waiting for word on your eligibility, you will have to pay for classes yourself by the tuition payment deadline or classes will be dropped. If you are currently receiving financial aid, you should check with the Financial Aid Office in Building 9 to ensure all of your paperwork has been received.
Tuition and fees at Beaufort County Community College are established by the N.C. General Assembly and the N.C. Board of Community Colleges. Currently, tuition for in-state students is $52 per credit hour and $243.30 per credit hour for out-of-state students. Although a tuition increase is anticipated in the upcoming fiscal year, no firm number will be available until the state budget is passed. Proposed increases range from $5 to $8 per credit hour.
Any student who has overdue library materials or who is delinquent in the payment of any fees, fines, or other obligations to the college will not be permitted to complete the registration process until the student has satisfactorily resolved the situation.
BCCC will hold an orientation session for new students Wednesday, July 14, to help newly-enrolled students become familiar with the campus and college policies.
The orientation session will begin at 10 a.m. in the auditorium of Building 8 on the BCCC campus.
Students attending the orientation session will be allowed to meet with an advisor and register that day, a day before all other new students.
“We hope that all students entering Beaufort County Community College for the first time this fall will attend the orientation session to meet campus leaders, familiarize themselves with the college and spend time with their fellow students,” said Crystal Ange, Dean of Student Services. “As an incentive, attendees will be allowed to register for classes a day early.”
At the orientation session, faculty and staff will give new students an overview of the college, the campus, financial aid and other services available to them. New students will also have the opportunity to meet fellow students who will be starting college this fall.
The New Student Orientation is free of charge to new students enrolled to enter BCCC this fall.

Applications are available on the BCCC website at www.beaufortccc.edu. For more information about the orientation session, interested persons can contact Ange at 252-940-6216.
