    Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Clark Rayburn, age 86, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Wednesday September 9, 2020 at her home.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 12, 2020 at the Taylor Cemetery located on the Gray Road, Chocowinity. Mrs. Doris' grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends at the home.

    Mrs. Doris was born in Beaufort County on November 2, 1933, daughter of the late Paul Allen Clark, Sr. and the late Mary Ester Taylor Clark. She was a 1952 graduate of Chocowinity High School. She married William Wesley Rayburn for thirty-three years before he preceded her in death. At National Spinning, formerly of Washington she retired as a supervisor in quality control. Mrs. Doris enjoyed playing softball for National Spinning, traveling, camping and helping out on the farm. She was a member of Haw Branch Church of Christ.

    Survivors include her children: Gale Sullivan (Donnie) of Washington, Allen Thomas Howard (Susan) of Washington, Larry Howard of Chocowinity and William W. Rayburn, Jr. (Laurie) of Chocowinity; a sister: Carolyn Waters of Chocowinity; eight grandchildren: Donnie Ray Sullivan, Jr., Kevin Clark Sullivan, Ryan Andrew Sullivan, Allen Howard, Jr., Jessica Ann Howard, Little Larry Howard and Nicholas Howard and seven great grandchildren. Mrs. Doris is was predeceased by a grandson: Alexander Thomas Howard and a brother: Paul Allen Clark, Jr.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for any memorial contributions be made to Haw Branch Church of Christ, 1501 Haw Branch Church Road, Chocowinity, NC 27817.
