    Mr. Donald Alexander Jensen, Jr., age 73, a resident of Washington, NC died Tuesday September 8, 2020 at his home.

    Due to the Covid pandemic a private graveside service will be held at Pamlico memorial Gardens in Washington officiated by Pastor Steve Atkins.

    Mr. Jensen was born in Monroe County, NY on December 4, 1946, son of the late Donald Alexander Jensen, Sr. and the late Estelle Agnes Keebler Jensen Holloman. He attended Washington High School and was a 1965 graduate of Carolina Military Academy in Maxton, NC. Later in life he completed his associates degree at Beaufort County Community College. Mr. Jensen proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He was stationed abord the USS Constellation Aircraft Carrier from 1966 to 1970. On December 22, 1984 he married the former Betty Sue Cherry who survives. In 2004 he retired from Burroughs Wellcome of Greenville as a chemical processor. Mr. Jensen loved fishing and golf, but his greatest love was for his family. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Chocowinity.

    Surviving along with his wife: Betty Sue of the home are his children: Denise Vick (Tony) of Chocowinity, Donald A. "Donnie" Jensen III of Chocowinity; step-son: Tony Smith of Washington; three sisters: Rennie Adkins (Steve) of Chocowinity, LeaAnn McWilliams (Steve) of Wilmington and Jeanie Waldrup (Les) of Virginia Beach, VA; six grandchildren: Eric Vick, Justin Vick, Katelyn Vick, Haley Jensen, Grant Jensen and Megan Jensen. his beloved poodle: Jazzy of the home and two adopted cats: Red and Knott head. He was predeceased by a step-father: Gid Holloman

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
