Cleo P. Fox Titus | Eastern North Carolina Now

   Cleo P. Fox Titus, 94, of 220 Old Durham Road, Roxboro, N.C., died Monday, July 2, 2012, at her home.

   Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. today at Brooks & White Funeral Home.

   The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brooksdale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Seong-Il Eom and the Rev. Nathan Fox will be in charge of the service. Pallbearers will be Howard Fox, Ashley Brown “Ace” Futrell III, Earl Brooks, Jimmy Brooks, Charles Carver, Tommy Carver, Thomas Carver and Mark Duncan.

   Burial will be held in Burchwood Cemetery following the service.

  
She was born Oct. 31, 1917, in Roxboro to Effie Brooks Fox and George Martin Fox. She attended schools in Roxboro and graduated from Roxboro High School. She graduated from Louisburg College and Greensboro College. She taught school in Stem, N.C., Helena High School in Timberlake, N.C., and Southern Middle School in Roxboro.

   On July 12, 1941, she married Glen Neal Titus who preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2002. She was a member of Brooksdale United Methodist Church and served in many capacities for the church. Survivors include one son, Glen Neal Titus Jr., and wife Linda, of Washington. She had twin granddaughters, Stephanie Titus Woodley and husband Stewart of Greenville, and Emily Titus Holley and husband Mark of Clayton, and one grandson, Glen Neal Titus III and wife Courtney of Wilmington. She had five great-grandchildren: Caleb Woodley, Samantha Woodley, Seth Holley, Brooke Holley and Lucy Titus. A nephew, Ashley Brown Futrell Jr. and wife Susan of Washington, survive. One sister, Rachel Fox Futrell of Washington, preceded her in death.

   The family wishes to thank her caregivers who have given unending concern and care to her. These special people are asked to sit with the family at the funeral. They are Faye Coates, Barbara Shotwell, Diane Carver, Nancy Morris, April O’Briant, Linda Poteat, JoAnn Willard and Trisha Hatch.

   Flowers are acceptable and the family requests that memorials be sent to Brooksdale United Methodist Church in care of Jane Rogers, P.O. Box 614, Roxboro, NC, 27573.
