That Is Stupid/Crazy! | Eastern NC Now

If you commit a crime, you have committed a crime!

Two men were arrested and charged in Southern California on voter fraud charges after they allegedly submitted thousands of fraudulent voter registration applications on behalf of homeless people, said the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Carlos Antonio De Bourbon Montenegro, 53, and Marcos Raul Arevalo, 34, were charged with 1 count each of conspiracy to commit voter fraud, 8 counts of voter fraud, 4 counts of procuring and offering a false or forged instrument, and other charges.

Montenegro allegedly submitted more than “8,000 fraudulent voter registration applications between July and October 2020.” He’s also accused of falsifying names, signatures, and addresses on nomination papers “under penalty of perjury to run for mayor in the city of Hawthorne.”

Montenegro also faces another 10 counts of voter fraud, 7 counts of procuring and offering a false or forged instrument, 2 counts of perjury, and 5 misdemeanor counts of interference with a prompt transfer of a completed affidavit.

If convicted, Montenegro can face as many as 15 years and eight months in prison, while Arevalo could face 7 years in prison.

************

Why is the statement in the next paragraph made? It makes it seem like, if they did not change the outcome, they did not Commit any Crime at all!...

“Other details about the case are not clear. It’s also not clear if their alleged voter fraud scheme affected the presidential election in some way.”

************

Let’s carry this “affected the presidential election in some way” to its Stupid/Crazy Thinking Conclusion...

  • 10 different individuals falsify 10,000 votes for the same candidate.
  • Their candidate wins by 1 vote.

That totals 100,000 falsified votes. Since any single 10,000 vote falsification was not enough to “affect the outcome” all by itself, then the 10 Vote Falsifiers Did Not Commit Any Crime?!

That is Stupid/Crazy!

Would I kid u?
