    Mrs. Evelyn Tyson, a resident of 1022 Dan Taylor Road, Washington, NC died Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Duke University Hospital. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, March 22, 2021 at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will greet and receive friends at the cemetery.

    Mrs. Tyson was born December 10, 1953 in Beaufort County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Hawkins and Mary (Polly) Ruth Hawkins. She was married to the late Bobby L. Tyson who preceded her on June 2, 2018. Evelyn loved her grandchildren, her dogs and loved to travel. Evelyn also dearly loved her two boys.

    Mrs. Tyson retired from Piggly Wiggly in Washington, NC.

    Survivors include her two sons: Timmy Lawrence Tyson of Clyde, NC, Phillip Wayne Tyson and fiancée Heather Marie Dawkins both of Washington, NC, one sister: Janice C. Grissom and her husband Phillip of Chocowinity, NC two granddaughters: Jessica Tyson and Jaden Tyson, one grandson: Mason Tyson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two sisters: Percilla Bright and Gloria Hannah.
