Clara Mae Stotesberry Bowen | Eastern North Carolina Now

   Clara Mae Stotesberry Bowen, 94, of Plymouth died Thursday, August 9, 2012, at her residence in Plymouth.

   Born April 18, 1918, in Beaufort County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Stotesberry and Edith Rose Stotesberry and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Winton Bowen; sisters, Olise Waters and Daisy Craddock; brothers, Leland Stotesberry, Alton Stotesberry, Arthur Stotesberry, Charlie Stotesberry and Harold Stotesberry. Mrs. Bowen was a homemaker and member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

   Her family includes her daughters, Esther Bowen Smith and Patricia Bowen Futrell and husband Buddy; sons, Robert Junior Bowen and wife Donna and Dennis Leigh Bowen and wife Jennie, all of Plymouth, N.C.; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

   Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 12, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Plymouth with Reverend Alfred Markuson officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 11, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth and other times at the residence. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
