    Mrs. Frances Maureen Peters Waters, age 81, a resident of Washington, NC died Tuesday July 27, 2021 at MacGregor Downs Nursing Center in Greenville.

    A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 7, 2021 at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church officiated by Father Miguel Arturo Cabra. Burial of cremated remains will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

    Mrs. Waters was born in England on June 7, 1940. She met the love of her life, Alfred Ray Waters while he was serving his country in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed overseas. They were married in 1964 and upon his retirement from the Air Force, in 1979, they moved back to Mr. Waters' native Beaufort County, and resided in Washington. Mr. & Mrs. Waters loved camping and being ham radio operators. They were members of ARRL Ham Radio Club and were also members of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Washington.

    Survivors include two sons: Marshall Wayne Waters (Betty) of New Bern and Glenn Waters (Angie) of Red Oak; a brother: Anthony Peters of England; five grandchildren: Curtis Patrick Waters, Sarah Colleen Price (Robin), Heather Dawn Waters, Travis Sherrod (Taylor), and Bradley Sherrod and six great grandchildren.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the charity of one's choice.
