Douglas Earl Walston | Eastern NC Now

    Douglas Earl Walston, age 81, a resident of Washington, NC died Friday, October 29, 2021.

    A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday November 2, 2021 at Joseph B. Paul, Jr. Washington Funeral & Cremation officiated by Pastor Robert Travis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday November 1, 2021 at the funeral home.

    Douglas was born November 20, 1939 to the late Elsie Wiggs Walston and Paul Davis Walston in Wilson County, NC. He was skilled with his hands and a master cabinet maker. He loved Blue Grass and Gospel music and sang every chance he got. He attended Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church of Washington.

    He is survived by one son: Timothy Walston (Melonie) of Washington, NC; two daughters: Sharon Robbins (Robbie) of Rock Hill, SC and Janet Webster (Sam) of Grifton, NC, one Stepson Jerry Willis of Hubert, NC, two Stepdaughters Brenda Zuccaro of Lynchburg, TN, and Sandy Gurganus of Jacksonville NC. Seven grandchildren: Nick Robbins (Brandi) of Gibsonville, NC, Brittany Owens (Barry) of Seneca SC, Ryan Walston (Rhesa) of Chocowinity, NC, Renay Williams (Macon) of Washington, NC , Samantha Webster-Vaughn (Ryan) of Ellenboro, NC, Andrea Gregory (Brandon) of Grifton, NC and Holly Webster of Nevada TX. Five Step grandchildren, Erica, Zachary, Stephen, Dylan and Cheyenne. Nine great grandchildren, one sister Judy Williams of Winterville, NC and a host of nieces and nephews.

    In addition to his parent's he was preceded in death by his wife Annie Walston, one stepdaughter Kathy Willis, two sisters: Janie Radford and Linda Cox.
