Shawn Charles McCain | Eastern North Carolina Now

    Mr. Shawn Charles McCain, age 51, a resident of Belhaven, NC, and a former resident of Fayetteville, died Thursday March 10, 2022, at his home.

    A private memorial service will be held later.

    Mr. Shawn was born in Hamilton County, IN on May 24, 1970. He was a graduate of Scotland County High School in Laurinburg. In Fayetteville he was the owner and operator of McCain Erectors, Inc. Later he earned his bachelor's degree in computer science from UNC Pembroke. With his degree, Mr. Shawn worked for the Federal Government as a computer engineer at Womack Hospital on Ft. Bragg in Fayetteville. His love for Fishing is what lured him to Beaufort County. Other than fishing, he was learning to hunt. He loved animals especially training dogs. His knowledge of computer programs made him an excellent Video Gamer. Survivors are his children: Teddie N. McCain, Madison E. McCain both of Fayetteville, and a son Brent M. McCain of Denver, CO; his parents: Michael Clinton Ashley and Judith Elaine Morrow Ashley of Laurinburg; and two sisters: Michelle McCain-Stein (Robert) of Lancaster, SC, and Christine Ashley (David Kanoy) of Wilmington.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to National Kidney Foundation of NC, 933 Louise Avenue, Suite 101-B, Charlotte, NC 28204.
