    Sunday, December 9, 2012       Eyewitness Video: Bear       2:00 p.m.

    “Bear is a unique insight into the nature and legends that surround an animal we all fear. From the giant polar bear to the mighty grizzly, the bear is seen as a symbol of strength and power - yet still used as a model for a beloved children’s toy." Meet in the auditorium to watch this 35 minute video.

    Saturday, December 15, 2012       Campground Cookin’       3:30 p.m.

    We'll meet at Campsite #1 to make some campground goodies. Learn the basics of cooking over the campfire and taste some simple recipes that anyone can prepare without all the luxuries of a kitchen. Limit 10, please call the park office to sign up, (252) 923-2191.

    Saturday, December 22, 2012       A Christmas Campfire       5:00 p.m.

    'Tis the season to celebrate family, friends and community. Goose Creek State Park is hosting a Christmas campfire to bring family and friends together. Come enjoy a relaxing evening while listening to Christmas stories and sipping hot cocoa. Meet in the Group Camp parking lot. We will have some chairs provided, but feel free to bring your own along with a comfy blanket and warm clothing.

     Tuesday, January 1, 2013       New Year’s Celebration Hike       2:00 p.m.

   Start the New Year off right by taking a guided 4-mile hike. We will meet at the Palmetto Boardwalk parking lot. The park will be hosting a month of hikes throughout January. Make sure to check your calendars and join us as we hike for our health.

We cherish too, the Poppy red that grows on fields where valor led, it seems to signal to the skies that blood of heroes never dies.
RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day by visiting Goose Creek State Park in Washington.
Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
Please join us at the park visitor center on Saturday, October 8th from 3-5 pm where we will host a Halloween Wildlife Event.
