Mrs. Ann Toler Stowe | Eastern NC Now

   Mrs. Ann Toler Stowe, age 79, a resident of 333 East 14th Street, Washington, died Friday, February 1, 2013 at River Trace Nursing Center in Washington.

   Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Rev. Danny Allen.

    Mrs. Stowe was born in Washington on August 3, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Fred Arthur Toler and Elizabeth Wilkinson Toler. Mrs. Stowe was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. She was telephone operator with Carolina Telephone, retiring in 1985 with 30 years of service. After retirement, Mrs. Stowe worked as a substitute school teacher. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

    On May 5, 1960, she married Edward Wells “Buddy” Stowe, Sr., who passed away September 7, 2003.

    Mrs. Stowe is survived by two sons, Edward Wells Stowe, Jr. and wife Vicki of Hampstead, N.C., Frederick Lamar Stowe and wife, Kimberly of Washington; five grandchildren, Ashton Stowe, Madison Stowe, and Holden Stowe all of Washington, Matthew Stowe and Samuel Stowe both of Hampstead; one sister, Chris Toler Stowe of Washington; and two brothers, Fred Arthur Toler, Jr. and Steve Lewis Toler both of Washington.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Monday, February 4, 2013 at Mrs. Stowe’s home, 333 E. 14th Street, Washington.
