Charles Henry Edwards | Eastern NC Now

   Charles Henry Edwards of Walkertown, NC, formerly from Williamston, NC, passed away at home on February 3, 2013 at the age of 83. He was born in Martin County to the late Bruce and Glady Edwards.

   Charles is predeceased by wife of 45 years, Betty Wynne Edwards, and later Nina Watkins Edwards, of Winterville, NC.

   After graduating from Beaufort High School in 1948, he served in the United States Air Force in Guam. He retired from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Troop A, Communications Division, in 1991 after 34 years of service.

   Charles is survived by his loving children, daughter, Patricia Martin and husband Harry, of Kernersville, NC, son, Marty Edwards and partner Keith Mendenhall of Philadelphia, PA, grandchildren, Geoffrey Martin and wife Nicole of Kernersville, NC, and Jennifer Hill and husband, David, also of Kernersville, NC, five great-grandchildren Hayden Martin, Hannah Martin, Brianna Hill, Dylan Hill, and Levi Martin, brothers Wilbur Edwards and wife Ann of Williamston, NC and Dewey Edwards of Portsmouth, VA.

   Services with be held at Biggs Funeral Home in Williamston, NC at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013 with visitation from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Martin Memorial Gardens.
