Mr. Clarence Gray Alligood | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Clarence Gray Alligood, age 79, a resident of 6966 U.S. Highway 264 East, Washington, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at his home.

    A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Tony Krantz. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Paris Alligood, Mark Evans, Glenn Lane Alligood, Randy Alligood, Paul Alligood and Ryan Alligood will serve as pallbearers.

   Mr. Alligood was born in Beaufort County on July 3, 1933, son of the late Clarence Thomas Alligood and the late Elsie Woolard Alligood. He married the former Evelyn Thorn Alligood on May 23, 1965, who preceded him in death on July 10, 2011. He worked with Thomas & Howard from 1954 to 1980 and with Moss Planing Mill from 1980 until his retirement in 1999. Mr. Alligood was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ.

    Survivors include two sisters: Joyce M. Evans and husband Edmond, and Christine Marie Alligood and husband Levin both of Washington; three brothers: Don C. Alligood and wife Judy of Bath, and Major “Colon” Alligood and wife Carol of Washington, and Tony K. Alligood of Rock Hill, S.C., and his nieces and nephews. Mr. Alligood was predeceased by two brothers: Ken Merlin Alligood and Gene Thomas Alligood.

    The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
