Now its Norway with polls showing a big shift to the right | Eastern NC Now

Following Sweden's election of a center-right government last year and a big increase by the populist-nationalist anti-immigration Sweden Democrats, and recent polls showing a big gain by the right, both traditional and populist-nationalist in Finland, the latest polls are showing a major trend in the same direction in Norway.

Rocketing to first place among Norwegian parties is the traditional Conservative Party, with 29%, a gain of 9 points since the last election.  The governing Labor Party has dropped to second place with 21%, a loss of 5 points since the last election.   In third place is the populist-nationalist anti-immigration Progress Party, with 13% a gain of 1 point since the last election.  The Progress Party is a sovereigntist party that rejects participation in the EU, and was founded in the 1980s as the Anders Lange Party with a three point platform of "abolish the income tax, abolish the welfare state, and fire the bureaucracy". It quickly added an anti-immigration stance. 

The coalition partner of Labor in the current government, the Center Party, has fallen from third place to sixth place with only 6%, a loss of 8 points since the last election.

Likely coalition partners of the Conservatives, the Christian Democrats and the Liberals are polling at 4% each, not a significant change since the last election.
