BCCC Foundation Announces Board of Directors Scholarship Recipients | Eastern NC Now

    The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the recipients of the BCCC Foundation Board of Directors Scholarship. Established in 2015, this scholarship is awarded to Continuing Education students seeking an industry-recognized credential. Students must demonstrate financial need and meet qualifying guidelines. Registration is now open for summer courses through the Division of Continuing Education.

    Jessica Blake, 33, is a registered medical assistant student and a Plymouth resident. She currently works at O'Neal's Drug Store as a pharmacy technician. Blake attended Jamesville High School. She is the daughter of Robert and Angela Carter of Jamesville and David Leggett of Williamston, a mother of three and the wife of Clay Respass.

    Nereyda Cabello Jimenez, 25, is a Greenville resident and a registered medical assistant student. Cabello attended Washington High School and plans to work in sonography. She is the daughter of Yesica Cabello of Washington. She currently works at Fastmed Urgent Care.

    Amirea Gibbs, 16, is a nurse aide student and a Fairfield resident. She attends Mattamuskeet High School and plans to work as a nurse. She is the daughter of Chanta Rickard and Kenneth Rickard of Fairfield.

    Daishawna Little, 20, is a Washington resident and a pharmacy technician student. She attended Washington High School. (not pictured)

    Lisa Lee, 54, is a Williamston resident and a registered medical assistant student. She attended Lake Region High School. She currently works as a certified nurse aide II at ECU Pediatrics and plans to work as a medical assistant. (not pictured)

    Justin Travis "J.J." McLean Jr., 17, is a Washington resident and a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) student. He attended Washington High School and plans to join the military and work in HVAC. He is the son of Justin and Brittany McLean.

    Iris Ward, 30, is a registered medical assistant student and a Washington resident. She earned her GED from BCCC and plans to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

    Oreyonna Whitney is a Washington resident and a pharmacy technician student.

    Michael Shane Williams Jr., 17, is a Swan Quarter resident and a nurse aide student. He attends Mattamuskeet Early College High School and plans to continue taking nursing courses. He is the son of Kaila and Michael Williams.
