Welp, it looks like Democrats in Congress are starting to regret having a president who was praised by many and supported by none for nearly 50 years in the Oval Office.

According to a new report, multiple Congressional Democrats are in complete disbelief that President Joe Biden is going to ditch Washington, D.C., for Memorial Day Weekend - even as the U.S. is just days away from defaulting on its debt.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has been showing up to work every day this week with a pretty sharp message and explicit demands in order to draft a deal that would stave off a national debt default on June 1 - but after months of Biden saying that he won't negotiate, his party is now starting to wonder what the end game-plan is here.

"It's time to bring the president off the bench, or bring somebody off the bench," one anonymous elected Democrat told POLITICO. "No one's responding to anything. Kevin's consistently on message. We have the Oval Office. I've never seen anything like it."

But Biden has no interest in getting in the game. He's content to go to Camp David.

"Please tell me that's not true," said another lawmaker to POLITICO. "You're going to see a caucus that's so pissed if he's stupid enough to do that."

Sorry to break it to you, toots, or dude, or whomever you are - it is true. He's getting out of town like a bat out of Wuhan.

The guy who billed himself as the key leader who could sit down with those "across the aisle" and make a deal isn't capable of doing that. Polls show that most Americans agree with McCarthy's demands for budget cuts, as well as work requirements for welfare.

Per POLITICO, Democrats are so desperate to get the White House to take any sort of action that they are openly calling on the press to put pressure on the Biden administration to make a deal. Otherwise, they just might have to accept the Republicans' plan in order to avoid a default.

"The scale of the cuts is staggering, which really the public knows very little about," Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) said. "The president should be out there."

"Help us," DeLauro begged reporters. "I don't want you to feel that you're being co-opted, but you have a responsibility as well."
