Glenda Mizelle Winstead | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Glenda Mizelle Winstead, age 87, a resident of Wilson, died Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at her home.

    Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Snowd Branch Church of God, VOA Road, Washington, conducted by her brother, Rev. Ronald Mizell and her nephews, Rev. Ramon Mizell, Rev. Stephen Mizell and Rev. Brian Wible. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Terry Clark, Ottis Crisp, Edward Earl Dixon, Ross Marshall, Benny Mizelle and Murray Waters.

    Mrs. Winstead was born in Beaufort County on November 2, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Mack Daniel Mizelle and Lillie Mae Jackson Mizelle. Mrs. Winstead graduated from Washington High School in 1954. She worked as a seamstress and assembler at the Shirt factory, Garment factory and Stanadyne. Mrs. Winstead was a member of Snowd Branch Church of God and past member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

    On December 15, 1990, Mrs. Winstead married Carl Milton Winstead, who preceded he in death in 2014.

    Mrs. Winstead is survived by a stepson, Carlton B. Winstead and wife, Melba of Princeton; brother, Ronald S. Mizell of Lucama, N.C.; two sisters, Joyce Kelly of Hampton, VA, Martha Pierce of Washington, two grandchildren, Carmon Pollack, Jonathan Winstead; and three great grandchildren, Thorne, Morgan, and Noah.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023, at Snowd Branch Church of God.
