City of Washington City Council Candidate Gary Ceres Makes Public Records Request | Eastern North Carolina Now

Dear Director,

    Under the North Carolina Public Records Law, G.S. §132-1., I am requesting an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of public records that contain any written or electronic communications with City Manager Jonathan Russell, Mayor Donald Sadler, Alice Sadler, Bean Properties LLC, Matt Rochenberg, Richard and Mary Brooks regarding any Section 8 vouchers in the last 2 years received by Richard and Mary brooks, Matt Rochehenberg, Bean Properties LLC or Alice and Donald Sadler. In addition I request documentation of vouchers.

    This request also is for receipts for any and all trips taken by Personnel of the Housing Authority for conferences on low income affordable housing within the past two years including hotel receipts meal receipts flight receipts travel receipts of any kind by any and all members of the Housing Authority.

    Furthermore, I request any documentation with regards to request by the Housing Authority for waivers for Bean Property LLC or Richard Brooks or Mary Brooks on properties that they received from the Housing Authority as well for free electric or water and sewer hookups.

    If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me if the cost will exceed $5. However, I would also like to request a waiver of all fees in that the disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest and will contribute significantly to the public's understanding of how 3580,000 that was moved from the general fund of the city of Washington to the Housing Authority has been spent . This information is not being sought for commercial purposes.

    The law requires that you respond to and fulfill this request "as promptly as possible." If you expect a significant delay in responding to and fulfilling this request, please contact me with information about when I might expect copies or the ability to inspect the requested records.

    If you deny any or all of this request, please cite each specific exemption you feel justifies the refusal to release the information and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.
