Mr. Robert Alexander "Buck" Andrews, Sr., age 88, a resident of Washington, NC died Thursday, July 27, 2023, at ECU Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 2, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Jay Jones. A burial will be held at Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery with full military honors at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday August 1, 2023, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home of his daughter, Debbie Woolard, 212 Decoy Drive, Washington.

Mr. Andrews was born in Guilford County on August 21, 1934, son of the late Avery Alfred Andrews, Sr., and the late Callie Andrews. He loved his country and that led him to serve his country in the U.S. Army for two years followed by the NC National Guard until his retirement from the military. Mr. Andrews was also an officer with the Beaufort County Animal Control. The only love greater than his love for his country was his love for his family. He was often called a "jack of all trades" and he was a dedicated viewer of Fox News. If his family had to look for him, he could often be found on his front porch enjoying nature or at the Bojangles round table meeting.

Survivors include his daughters: Debbie Woolard and her husband Lee of Washington, Tina Prestridge of Cedar Point and Trudy Gooding of Washington; brothers: Edward Andrews and his wife Retha of Grimesland, Avery Andrews and his wife Mary of Washington, and Terry Andrews and his wife Terry of Washington; sisters: Miriam Newman of Aurora, and Pat Cutler and her husband Leland of Bath; grandchildren: Robyn Hales and her husband Michael of Greenville, Kristina Weeks and her husband Tim of Wake Forest, Briton Prestridge and his wife Morgan of Swansboro, Kelly Setzer and his wife Jessica of Snow Hill, Samuel Setzer and his wife Anna of Greenville, and Cassandra Setzer of Williamston; fifteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by his parents and a son: Robert A. Andrews, Jr.; a grandson: Greg Taylor, Jr.; a great grandchild: Pailyn Setzer; a brother: J. A. Andrews; and a sister Jamie Andrews.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Beaufort County Humane Society, P. O. Box 33, Washington, NC 27889.

Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington is honored to serve the Andrews family.
