Gerald Franklin Cabe | Eastern NC Now

    Gerald Franklin Cabe, age 71, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Wednesday August 16th at The Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice.

    A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday August 27th in the fellowship hall of Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC and will be officiated by Rev. George C. Critz, III.

    Gerald was a 1971 graduate from Southeast High School in Greensboro, NC. He served in the U.S. Navy and received an honorable discharge August 30,1975. He was a charter member of Community Lutheran Church in Summerfield, NC. He retired after 37 years from Gilbarco-Veeder Root in 2017. He and his wife spent their retirement years traveling, visiting many friends and family and settled in Chocowinity, enjoying life on the Pamlico River.

    He is survived by the love of his life Frances Critz Cabe, son Justin, grandchildren Brenleigh Kimbro, Alexia Kimbro and Tennison Cabe, a large extended family who meant the world to him as he was an only child.

    He was predeceased by his father Lee, mother Adelaide and daughter Christina Kimbro.

    Many thanks to all the staff at SECU Cancer Center and Palliative Care in New Bern, NC and the Hospice House in Greenville, NC. They are angels of mercy and love who provided the best possible treatment and care.

    Visitation will follow the service.
