Judy Irene Harris | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Judy Irene Harris, age 78, joined the Kingdom of her Heavenly Father on Friday, September 1, 2023.

    A private memorial service will be held for the family later.

    Mrs. Harris was born in Pantego, on October 23, 1944, daughter to the late Thomas Cleveland "T.C." Harris, Jr. and the late Sybil Wilkerson Harris. She was raised in Tera Ceia and spent most of her life in Beaufort County and graduated from Pantego High School. Mrs. Harris enjoyed the company of other people and did not know a stranger, but she also loved spending time with animals.

    She particularly loved horses and dogs. Mrs. Harris made a point to walk with the Lord daily and worshipped regularly, whether in church or at home.

    Her happiest role was as a mother and she is survived by both her children: Cristy Binder of Denver, Colorado and Ryan Stancill of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by two sisters: Joanna Williams and Rebecca Keech; and her grandchildren: Amanda Binder 31, of Kill Devil Hills, Lucas Stancill 18, Kate Stancill 16, and Ellie Stancill 11 all of Atlanta, Georgia.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9907.
