Lorrine Boston | Eastern NC Now

    Lorrine Boston was born in Darden, North Carolina on October 29, 2013, to the late Eddie and Mercy Dee Boston. She departed this life on April 22, 2013, at home, 274 Chauncey Street, Brooklyn, NY.

    Funeral Services will be at noon on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Mt Hebron Church of Christ with Elder Gregory Boston, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

    Lorrine was a 1961 graduate of P. S. Jones High School and furthered her education in New York with the Board of Education, Brooklyn, and worked until she retired in 2O11.

    She attended Long Ridge Baptist Church, Darden, and upon relocating to New York, she became a member of St Paul Church of Christ (DOC) where she served as a member of Gospel Chorus, Pastor's Aide, Matron of Jr. Usher Board and Missionary Usher Board. She was also an active member of Eastern Star, Local 372.

    "Rena," as she was affectionately called, had a passion for traveling. She toured the United States, traveled as a delegate to many church conventions and it was a joy to her to often return to her hometown.

    Rena leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Lanier Boston, four grandchildren: Kiara, Mariah, Ajuare, and Justin; two sisters, lda Whitney, of Washington, and Katie Little, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four brothers: Ivery, Henry (Mary), Joseph (Mazel), Wade (Barbara), all of Washington; one adopted sister, Shirley Hedgpeth, other relatives and friends.

    Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to service.
