Deborah Jean Cunningham | Eastern NC Now

    Deborah Jean Cunningham of Bath, NC at the age of 66 passed away peacefully on September 13, 2023, because of her courageous fight with ALS. She was a graduate of North Lenoir High School and Pitt Community College where she gained her degree in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Lenoir County Jail as a nurse and then became a home health and hospice nurse later in her career.

    Debbie was a caring nurse, loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, helping others and being outdoors. She was very active in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

    She is survived by her mother Mildred Cunningham of Winterville, NC; her sister Lynn Bennett of Harnett County, NC; her son Aaron Johnson and wife Nicole Johnson of Bath, NC, her son Patrick Johnson of Kinston, NC; her daughter Candace Johnson and partner Gerald Price of Deep Run, NC, her daughter Gracie Baker and husband Keytred Baker of Grifton, NC; grandchildren, Hayley Johnson, Carter Johnson, Olivia Baker, Micah Baker, Kimberly Price, Cameron Price, Turner Ham, and Ward Ham.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Norwood Cunningham.

    Visitation will be held Sunday September 24th at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, NC beginning at 2pm with a service following at 3pm.
