    Mr. Roberson Mason "Robbie" McKinney, age 80, a resident of the Ponzer community of Belhaven died Sunday May 12, 2013 at his home.

    A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday May 15, 2013 at Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven officiated by Chaplin Davin Phillips.

    The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. Robbie's sister: Lou Armstrong located at 8581 NC Hwy 45 N. Belhaven, NC.

    Mr. Robbie was born in Beaufort County on September 15, 1932 son of the late Joshua Roe McKinney and the late Margaret Purvis Roberson McKinney. He was a 1950 graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service he continued his education at UNC Chapel Hill and earned his degree in education at East Carolina University. He was a retired school teacher who worked at Roosevelt Roads High School in Puerto Rico.

    Survivors include a sister Lou M. Armstrong and husband Tink of Belhaven; two nieces; one nephew and hundreds of students which Mr. Robbie considered "his children".

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to the charity of one's choice.

    Paul Funeral Home of Belhaven is honored to serve Mr. Robbie's family.
