    Sunday, June 2, 2013       Wetland Animals       2:00 pm

    Come check out some of the amazing animals living in and around Goose Creek State Park. This program will be held in the Discovery Room at the park's Visitor Center. You will have the opportunity to view many animal mounts and possibly some live critters as well. Meet at: Environmental Education and Visitor Center.

    Sunday, June 9, 2013       Palmetto Boardwalk Hike       2:00 pm

    The palmetto boardwalk gives you a close-up view of a hardwood swamp transitioning into a marsh. It also contains tons of wildlife, fauna and flora. This hike will begin at the park’s Visitor Center. Meet at: Environmental Education and Visitor Center

    Saturday, June 23, 2013       Goose Creek Turtles       2:00 pm

    Did you know our state reptile happens to be a turtle? Visit the park and check out some of our cute and amazing turtles. This program will be held in the park’s Visitor Center. Meet at: Environmental Education and Visitor Center

    Tuesday, June 25, 2013       Junior Ranger Days       All Day

    Are your kids between the ages of 7 and 11? Do they have an interest in nature? If so, sign them up to become a Junior Ranger of Goose Creek State Park. After completing this very prestigious program, children will be sworn in and given their official Junior Ranger patch and certificate. Then they will receive the NC State Parks Junior Ranger Newsletter four times a year! Please call Goose Creek State Park at (252) 923-2191 to learn more and find out how to register your child. Meet at: Environmental Education and Visitor Center

Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
