    Raleigh, NC     Governor Pat McCrory signed the following bills into law today:

    HB 980 (Rep. Burr) Provide Medicaid/2012-2013 Additional Appropriations
    •  A bill that authorizes budget adjustments for the 2012-2013 fiscal year in an amount up to $451,000,000 to cover a projected Medicaid budget shortfall of $333,000,000 and the repayment of Medicaid federal drug rebates in the amount of $118,000,000.

    HB 254 (Reps. Glazier, Lewis, Szoka and Lucas) Zoning Changes/ Notice to Military Bases
    • A bill that identifies additional proposed land use changes that would require notification by a local government to a nearby military installation.

    SB 430 (Sen. Brown) Clarify Electric Load Control Process
    •   A bill that exempts an installer of an electric load control switch who works for a public utility, electric membership corporation, or municipal service provider from needing an electrical contractor's license, so long as the work is overseen by a licensed electrical contractor, and exempts the installation maintenance or replacement of an electric load control switch by such a person from requiring a building permit.

    SB 189 (Sens. Cook, Barefoot and Sanderson) Amend Law Defining Home Schools
    •  A bill that amends the definition of home school to allow children taught in home schools to receive instruction from sources other than parents or guardians.
