WHo are ultra-RINOs Tillis and Berger backing in NC Republican primary? UPDATE | Eastern North Carolina Now

Two liberal Republican "RINOs" (Republicans in Name Only), Sen. Thom Tillis and state senate boss Phil Berger, cast a dark shadow over NC Republican politics, and both are backing candidates like themselves for office in the upcoming primary.  Tillis was censured by the state Republican Party convention last year for his liberal US Senate voting record, and has not slowed down on his liberalism.  Most recently he has continued to push to support Biden's illegal immigration path.

Since the election of liberal Democratic Govenor Roy Cooper eight years ago, Phil Berger has repeatedly pushed major liberal policy agenda items of Cooper's through the General Assembly.  It started with repeal of NC's bathroom privacy law that had kept biological men out of womens restrooms and locker rooms.  It moved on to things like the climate alarmists Green New Deal, the Obamacare Medicaid expansion, and Cooper's huge  Democrat-led slush fund NCInnovation. In the last election, Berger even publicly endorsed a liberal Democrat judge.

Berger's chief political operative is Jim Blaine, and Tillis' is Paul Shumaker.  When these two are lurking in a campaign, their bosses, Tillis and Berger are not far behind.  Many of the TIllis or Berger candidates wil loudly tell voters they are "conservative" but a peek at their records tells you otherwise.

So, who are the candidates on Beaufort County GOP ballots being pushed by Tillis?  First there is the candidate that Shumaker recruited for governor and Tillis has endorsed, wealthy trial lawyer Bill Graham, running for governor.  Liberal incumbent Superintendant of Public Instruction Catherine Truitt  is another of those being openly supported by Tillis.  On the presidential level, Tillis says he thinks Nikki Haley would make a good president.                                                    UPDATE: Jeff Tarte running for State Auditor is also part of Team Tillis.

What about Berger?  His operative Blaine has been active in recruiting this election season, but also in coopting other politicians.  In terms of coopting other politicians, Berger and Blaine have inserted thimselves into the campaign of Mark Robinson, running for governor and Berger has openly endorsed Robinson..  Berger business associate Seth Woodall  from Berger's home county of Rockingham is seeking the Lieutenant Governor's office.  Berger operative Blaine recruited two who just switched to the GOP to run for Council of State positions, Dave Boliek  for State Auditor and Brad Briner  for State Treasurer. Briner voted in the Democrat primary as recently as 2020 and is employed by the financial network of gun control crusader Micheal Bloomberg.  Berger has also been recruiting and financing state senate candidates he expects to control in Raleigh from districts around the state, including Bob Brinson  in Beaufort County's 3rd senate district.

Tillis and Berger have also been active in a number of NC Congressional districts pushing their more liberal brand of Republicanism and candidates who follow it, but none of those are on our ballots.

Conservative voters should BEWARE of candidates connected with Tillis and / or Berger.  There is an old saying about "birds of a feather".

I had an interesting report on the extent to which liberal dirtbag Sen. Jim Perry is engaged in backing Bob Brinson. A Beaufort County Republican put up a pro-Speciale post on Facebook, and Perry personally responded by posting the hatchet job that far left WRAL did on Speciale a few years ago. That reporting was widely discussed in the legislature at the time as exposing the leftwing media grossly twisting things out of context to smear Republicans, so Perry had to know it was a highly dishonest smear when he posted it. That he posted it speaks volumes about the dishonest low life that Perry is.

Good riddance to liberal Perry as our state senator. Perry not only frequently voted liberal but was out there pushing other Republican legislators to vote for Roy Cooper's key liberal agenda items like the Green New Deal and the Obamacare Medicaid expansion, as well as other dubious programs like scattering casinos across our state. Perry was one of the top recipients of casino and marijuana money in the legislature, and was named national gambling industry "policymaker of the year" even though he failed on that one. Perry even would go over to the House to push the liberal agenda. For example, he approached Rep. Keith Kidwell and asked what Kidwell needed for changing his vote to support the Obamacare Medicaid expansion. Kidwell thought a minute and replied "Roy Cooper's resignation as governor" and Perry stormed off.

Bob Brinson came to a county GOP meeting early on in his campaign and after acknowledging that Perry was a liberal said he would not follow Perry's liberal mode. Brinson also recognized that Phil Berger was leading the Senate in a liberal direction and he would stand up against that. Funny thing that Perry and Berger have now been revealed as Brinson's most important backers. The more I learn and see of this race, the more I conclude that Brinson was not being truthful with what he told local Republicans on this race or in the flood of election mailers he has put out or were put out on his behalf by groups linked to Berger.

I voted today, and even I found the sample ballot /cheat sheet useful as a real Conservative.

Republicans tend to like to vote on election day, and if you need a push in the Conservative direction, please use our carefully considered Sample Ballot by clicking here - www.beaufortcountynow.com

Tillis and Berger both have absolutely terrible records on illegal immigration. I would not trust either or vote for any candidate associated with either. Berger blocking the bill to end it is the reason we still have sanctuary counties in North Carolina.

So now pollsters are all "racist" too, Bigot Bob? What an idiot socialist troll you are.

'those groups' - more racism

Ask ANY pollster, Moron Bob. They ALWAYS look at voting behavior by groups in what is known as "cross tabs". They ALWAYS break down by gender (men and women, not the crazy gender categories), age groups, party affiliation, race (white, black, hispanic) and other categories. There are clear patterns of voting behavior among those groups. It takes a real moron not to understand that factual situation, but I guess you qualify, Little Bobbie.

"black majority district " - what has the color of their skin have to do with it?
( February 24th, 2024 @ 6:35 pm )

Accurate assessment of voting patterns based on election results is not "racism", Bigot Bob, it is reality. Hopefully the polling will be correct that many black voters are moving to the GOP. Pollsters also break down voters into various groups, including by race, in their crosstabs. You just like to throw around that word "racism" like most on the far left do.

Again with the racism.

At the time that Phil Berger gerrymandered Beaufort County into that liberal district to get rid of Bill Cook over Berger's planned Green New Deal sellout, the reality was that a black majority district in most of the country meant a guarantee of leftwing Dmeocrat representation. That is exactly what Beaufort County got from Berger's scheme. There are hopeful signs in more recent polls that more and more black voters are escaping the Democrat plantation, so hopefully in the future, such districts may become competitive, but we are not there yet.

What that dirtbag Berger did to Beaufort County and Sen. Bill Cook in that gerrymander should rally all Beaufort County Republicans to defeat Berger's rent boy Brinson in the state senate primary.
