    Ethel Joyner Colville Crisp, age 92, a resident of Washington, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 25, 2024 at Ridgewood Manor Living & Rehabilitation.

    The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM Monday April 29, 2024 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM on Monday April 29, 2024 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Pastor Danny Edge. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery Pallbearers include her grandsons: Dusty Crisp, Josh Hardison, Kevin Crisp, David Crisp, James Crisp, and Joyner Crisp. Honorary Pallbearer: Carter Crisp.

    Mrs. Crisp was born in Beaufort County on February 12, 1932, to the late John Glenn Colville and the late Dolly Irene Burbage. On July 15, 1951, she married the love of her life, James Roy Crisp, who preceded her in death on March 6, 2007. She worked as a greeter at Walmart, loving all of the people she met through the years, many becoming dear friends. She loved the Lord, Christ Jesus, with all of her heart and was active in her church, Christ Crucified Church in Washington. Mrs. Crisp will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and very special Gigi. She loved her time in the kitchen cooking and then watching everyone enjoy eating her amazing meals. She enjoyed being outside tending to her humming bird feeders, taking care of her flowers and gardening. She enjoyed reading, sewing and, most of all, spending time with her family and friends, laughing and making precious memories.

    Survivors include her son, James Roy "Jimmy" Crisp, Jr. (Anna) of Washington, Richard "Glenn" Crisp (Allison) of Washington, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a brother, John Taylor Colville (Ruby) of Washington, a sister, Bertha Lee Tyson also of Washington.

    In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Long Rader and Mary Pace Scott.
