    Mrs. Hilda Pinkham Silverthorne, age 93, a resident of 244 Shady Banks Beach Road, Washington, NC died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at her home.

    A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Oakdale Cemetery of Washington officiated by Dr. Michael Price.

    Mrs. Silverthorne was born in Beaufort County on October 4, 1919 to the late Aaron Taylor Pinkham and Mamie Roberson Pinkham. On November 6, 1999, she married Dr. Ray G. Silverthorne, who survives. Mrs. Silverthorne was a member of First Christian Church, where she was active with the Christian Women's Fellowship.

    In addition to her husband, of the home, Mrs. Silverthorne is survived by her step children: Betty Faye Dail and husband Milton of Washington, NC, Patricia Lammers and husband Gary of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ray G. Silverthorne, Jr. and wife Courtney of Vanceboro, NC and Connie Tanner and husband Tom of King George, Va., step grandchildren: Jesse Dail, Milton Dail, Jr., Robert Dail, Rebecca Dail, Lell Lammers, Ruth Lammers, Mary Lammers, Erin Tanner, Gil Tanner, Ray Celeste Tanner and Anna Beth Tanner.

    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Silverthorne was preceded in death by a stepson: Frank Silverthorne.

    The family will receive friends Friday, June 28, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
