    Florena Corlet Sotto, age 72, a new resident of Washington, NC died Friday November 8, 2024 at her home.

    A funeral mass will be held 9:00AM Tuesday November 12, 2024 at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and will be officiated by Father Erik Reyes. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

    Mrs. Sotto was born on July 6, 1952 in the Philippines, to the late Alejandro Corlet and Celenia Laurio. On June 22, 1970 she married Delfin Epong Sotto. She worked as a supervisor in clothing manufacturing until she opened her own dress-making business at home at the age of 50 and worked until her health allowed. Mrs. Sotto enjoyed sewing, cooking, attending church and church functions. She was a member of the Legion of Mary, Couples for Christ (CFC-MFC), and attended Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.

    Mrs. Sotto was a devoted Catholic whose deep faith in God was central to her life. She was a selfless soul, always willing to put others before herself, and her good-spirited nature brought warmth and joy to those around her. Known for her generous heart, she found great purpose in helping others, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

    Survivors include her husband, Delfin Sotto, four children, Darwin Sotto, Evangeline Goolsby, Delfin Sotto Jr., and Danielle Sotto, four grandchildren, Yumi, Julianne, Vince, and Liannce, three living brothers, Pael Corlet, Ben Corlet, and Nonong Corlet, a living sister, Nene Placencia, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
