Governor Pat McCrory and First Lady Ann McCrory hosted a "Back to School Brigade” for military children today at the Governor’s Residence.

    Raleigh, NC     Governor Pat McCrory and First Lady Ann McCrory hosted a "Back to School Brigade” for military children today at the Governor’s Residence. The first couple welcomed more than 200 families. Children received free backpacks stocked with back-to-school supplies.

    “I am very proud of my wife, Ann, for taking on such a great project," said Governor Pat McCrory. “North Carolina military families make many sacrifices for our freedom so we are glad to help by providing the supplies they need for the start of school."

    The back-to-school supplies were donated by John Deere Ag & Turf Division - Cary Office, Wells Fargo Team Members and Operation Homefront.

    "We had so much fun with the children today," said First Lady Ann McCrory. "Thanks to the caring business community and Operation Homefront we helped make a difference."

    Today's "Back to School Brigade" took place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
