Carol Huggins Foster | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Carol Huggins Foster, age 78, a former resident of Pamlico Beach, NC, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2025.

    The family will hold a memorial service, March 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM at LifeGate FWB Church, 52 Old Pamlico Beach Road West. There will be a visitation and meal after the memorial service.

    Mrs. Carol was born on May 17, 1946, in New Hanover County, NC. She was the daughter of Elijah Bryant Huggins and Hilda Faye Huggins. Mrs. Carol was a graduate of New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC. On March 11, 1966, she married the love of her life Gregory Allen Foster.

    Mrs. Carol had several careers in her life, including manufacturing, running several hog operations, working in tobacco and in the seafood industry.

    Mrs. Carol had a great love for animals and helping people. She was also a member of the Pamlico Beach Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad as an EMT for a number of years.

    Mrs. Carol is survived by her daughter Sherry Derrick and husband Rusty of Pamlico Beach and a son, Allen Foster of Garner. Two sisters, Loretta Burke and husband Gerald of Hickory and Debra Conway and husband George of Winterville.

    Mrs. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Gregory Allen Foster. Both of her parents and a sister Wanda Huggins Ward.
