Alene Moore Lucas | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Alene Moore Lucas, age 91, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday April 9, 2025 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation.

    A funeral service will be held 2:30 PM Tuesday April 15, 2025 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington. Linwood Lewis and Candler Barker will be officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. James Kelly Lucas, Jr., Jake Alexander Lucas, Samantha Batts, Zackary Batts, Dalton Wood, and Chanel Zeliz will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Lucas was born in Harnett County on October 8, 1933 to the late James T. and Vestina S. Moore. On October 26, 1955 she married Edward Washington Lucas who preceded her in death on April 8, 2015. She worked as an assembler and laborer at Bonty Products, Sampson Shirt Factory, and National https://wwwdev.bmcc.cuny.edu/ Spinning. She also was a beautician side by side with her husband Edward at Lucas Barber Shop. Mrs. Lucas enjoyed tending to her yard, push mowing the grass, keeping cats, and cooking food she knew she wasn't going to eat just to give it to the staff of Waffle House. She attended Graceway Pentecostal Church

    Survivors include her son, James Kelly Lucas, Sr, and wife Tammy of Chocowinity, four grandchildren, James Kelly Lucas, Jr. and wife Jessica Dixon, Emily Grace Wood and husband Dalton, Jake Lucas and wife Victoria, Samantha Batts and husband Zackary, seven great grandchildren, and two close friends who were with her through thick and thin, Trish Hardison, and Geneva Beacham.

    The family will receive friends from Tuesday April 15, 2025 from 1:30PM until the funeral hour at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at Mrs. Lucas' home.
