    Sunday, September 1, 2013       River Critters       2:00 pm

    Enjoy a nice afternoon stroll along the beautiful Pamlico River as we look for and discuss some of the amazing critters living in and around the water. You are welcome to bring water shoes, sunscreen and a bottle of water to make this adventure even more pleasurable. Meet the ranger at the park's Swim Beach.

    Sunday, September 14, 2013       Campground Cookin'       4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

    We'll meet at Campsite #3 to make some campground goodies. Learn the basics of cooking over the campfire and taste some simple recipes that anyone can prepare without all the luxuries of a kitchen. Limit 10, please call the park office to sign up, (252) 923-2191.

    Sunday, September 22, 2013       Hurricane Season       2:00 pm

    Hurricane season is in full swing here in Eastern NC, and we need to always be prepared for these powerful storms. Come and learn about how weather events form and what kind of areas here in the park help lessen the effects of hurricanes. Meet at the Visitor Center.

    Sunday, September 27, 2013       Celebrate TACO       8:00 pm

    On Friday September 27, celebrate Take A Child Outside Week by bringing your child to Goose Creek State Park for a movie under the stars. We will be watching the movie Epic with a showing time of 8:00 p.m. Please bring your own chair or blanket for seating and dress to be out in the nighttime air. The movie will be playing in the open field across from the Visitor Center. This event is free of charge.

    Sunday, September 29, 2013       Pirates of the Pamlico       2:00 pm

    Learn about some of the most notorious pirates to ever set sail in the Pamlico. Stories and historical events will be shared throughout this event. Please meet at the park Visitor Center.

RALEIGH: Today, Governor Roy Cooper and North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR) Secretary Reid Wilson celebrated Earth Day by visiting Goose Creek State Park in Washington.
Washington, N.C. – The inaugural Rivers East Advanced Manufacturing Academy took place at Pitt Community College on Friday, September 23rd.
Please join us at the park visitor center on Saturday, October 8th from 3-5 pm where we will host a Halloween Wildlife Event.
