Democrats in the Florida legislature are still jumping ship. Already this year, two Democrat members of the Florida House have switched their registration to Republican. Now the Minority Leader in the Florida Senate, that body's top Democrat, Senator Jason Pizzo has announced that he has changed his registration to No Party and resigned as Minority Leader. In a fiery floor speech announcing that he was leaving the Democrat Party, Senator Pizzo declared "our constituents are craving practical leaders, not political hacks." He also took a swipe at political consultants and declared "the Democratic Party in Florida is dead."
A lawyer. Pizzo has represented parts of Broward and Dade counties since 2018.
