Rennie Mae Fulford Johnson | Eastern NC Now

    Rennie Mae Fulford Johnson, age 86, a resident of Pamlico Beach, died Wednesday April 30, 2025, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Washington.

    A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 4, 2025, at St. Clair's Church of Christ Cemetery and will be officiated by Craig Hagen.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday May 3, 2025, at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven.

    Ms. Rennie was born in Beaufort County on September 20, 1938, to the late Junius I. Fulford and Lucy Mae Wilkins Fulford. She worked as a manager at the Helmsman, for Allen Jewelry Store, was a cashier at Pungo River Pharmacy, and worked part time for Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven, helping many in the community. Ms. Rennie was a past member of the Beaufort County School Board, the Ladies Auxiliary for Pamlico Beach Fire Department, and a member of St. Clair's Church of Christ. She loved to work and help others.

    Survivors include her son, Riley Richard "Ricky" Johnson, Jr. and wife Deborah of Belhaven, brother, Junius I. "Junior" Fulford of Pamlico Beach, and a sister, Catherine Shackleford of Plymouth.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Riley Richard Johnson, Sr., her son, Walter Johnson, brothers, Herbert Fulford, Murell Fulford, and sister, Kay Carter.
