Retired Captain Clemoth Earl Jones, age 87, of Peachtree City, GA passed away on Saturday June 28, 2025, at Newnan Health and Rehab, Newnan, GA after a long battle with failing health.

    Retired Captain Clemoth Earl Jones, age 87, of Peachtree City, GA passed away on Saturday June 28, 2025, at Newnan Health and Rehab, Newnan, GA after a long battle with failing health.

    Earl was born on March 14, 1938, which was his dad's birthday as well as his wife Lil's. His parents were Clemoth Elbert Jones, originally from Pantego and Gladys Virginia Gray Jones originally from Pike Road. On June 30, 1961. he married the former Lillie Ann Midgett of Belhaven, who preceded him in death on May 26, 2008. He was also preceded in death by both parents.

    Survivors include one daughter: Lori Jones Kozusnik, of Newnan, GA; one son: Gregory Earl Jones (Ann) of Lawrenceville, GA; two grandsons: Christoher Kozusnik (Stephanie) and Brandon Kozusnik (Breanna) of Newnan, GA; one granddaughter: Danielle "Nikki" Gage (Ryan) of Hogansville, GA; two great grandchildren: Trevor Gage and Zoe Cline; and one sister: Virginia Jones Everett of Pinetown.

    Earl was a 1956 graduate of Pantego High School and attended NC State College in Raleigh before entering the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air force he was stationed in Germany for four years, where he was a 2nd Lieutenant Fighter Training Pilot in an F-100 in the Vietnam War. After his military service he became a commercial pilot and retired as a captain of Delta Airlines in 1998. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Earl loved fishing and was an avid golfer. He will always be remembered as a good son, brother, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and good friend to all who knew him.

    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 12, 2025, at the Peachtree City UMC in Peachtree City, GA, officiated by Sean Robinson.
