    Mr. Kenneth Morris Mace, age 70, a resident of Washington, NC died Sunday August 24, 2025, at his home.

    A celebration of his life will be held later.

    Mr. Mace was born in Marion, NC on May 29, 1955, son of the late Morris Wilburn Mace and the late Dorothy Hazel Gardner Mace. He was a 1973 graduate of East Carteret High School in Beaufort and served his country in the Army National Guard from 1974 to 1979. On November 10, 1995, he married the former Leisha Gayle Sharpe who survives. He worked as a department manager at Walmart in Morehead City from 1989 to 1992 at which time he transferred to Walmart of Washington and worked until his retirement in 2013. He attended Fifteenth Church of God, Assembly of God, and Covenant Community Church all in Washington before becoming a member of The River church in Bath. Mr. Mace loved the Lord with all his heart. He served in music and or children's ministry, which was his calling, in any church he attended. He also did outside church events involving VBS, music ministry, and puppet ministry. He served in the Line In The Sand Ministry, Life Lite Band, and enjoyed playing with his brothers in Mason Dixon Line band.

    Surviving along with his wife Leisha of the home are his children: Bryan Mace, Kelly Mace and Lauren Johnston all of Beaufort, Joshua Mace and his wife Erin of Mt. Airy, and Joseph Mace and his wife Sarah of Lake Charles, LA; a brother: Rusty Mace and his wife Karen of Hubert; grandchildren: Nathan White of Washington, Cassidy Mace of Newport, Carson Pittman of Beaufort, Dylan Mace of Newport, Kyndell Johnson of Newport, Nicole Mace of Mt. Airy, Luke Johnston of Newport, Elise Mace of Mt. Airy, and Zander Harper of Beaufort. He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by an infant son; a brother: Gary Mace; and a sister: Linda Hight.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Jason's Archery Ministry c/o The River Church, 5160 NC Highway 92, Bath, NC 27808.

    Mr. Mace's family would like to offer their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice, Center Well Home Health, ECU Beaufort Hospital, ECU Health Medical Center, ECU Rehab Center, and River Trace Rehab for their compassionate care.
