    Mr. Ernest Carson Respass, age 77, a resident of the Long Acre Community of Plymouth, NC died peacefully at his home on Friday August 29, 2025.

    A private graveside funeral service for immediate family will be held at Long Acre Christian Church Cemetery officiated by Zach Phillips.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday September 1, 2025, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

    Ernest was born in Beaufort County on February 28, 1948, son of the late Johnnie Roscoe Respass and the late Opal Marie Dupree Respass. He was a 1966 graduate of Pantego High School and continued his education at the College of the Albermarle, where he earned his associate's degree. On August 31, 1968, he married the former Ann Hardison who survives. At the time of his retirement, he was a boiler operator in the power and recovery area at Weyerhaeuser in Plymouth. In his spare time, he loved the outdoors when he was either fishing or hunting. He was a lifetime member of Long Acre Chapel Christian Church.

    Surviving along with his wife, Ann, of the home are his children: Jason Scott Respass of Washington, and Angelia Repass Lake and her husband Bryan of Winterville; brothers: Travis Respass and his wife Elizabeth of Plymouth Larry Respass of Raleigh, and Terry Respass of New Port; sister-in-law: Deloris Respass of Greer, SC; grandchildren: Leann Respass Prince, Peyton Lake and Brody Lake; and great grandchildren: Cody Foster, Lexy Tate, Madison Prince, Lilly Prince, Mason Prince, and Layla Prince. Ernest was preceded in death along with his parents by a brother: Johnnie Dupree Respass.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Donna Hardy of Southern Girls Home Care for her compassionate care she showed Ernest and the true concern for the entire family. You will never be forgotten.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Long Acre Christian Church, 21861 NC Hwy 32 N. Plymouth, NC 27962.
