First Lady Ann McCrory Announces New Chief of Staff | Eastern NC Now

First Lady Ann McCrory has appointed Kristen Fields to the position of Chief of Staff. Fields replaces Heather Dickson who accepted a position with the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

    Raleigh, NC  -  First Lady Ann McCrory has appointed Kristen Fields to the position of Chief of Staff. Fields replaces Heather Dickson who accepted a position with the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

    "We are excited and thankful to bring Kristen aboard," said Mrs. McCrory. "She is a positive and driven teammate and leader. She is honored to continue to serve our state and is dedicated to my key initiatives, along with the governor's."

    Fields comes to the position from the Governor's Office where she served as New Media Director.

    Fields graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where she earned a B.A. in English and Creative Writing. Her professional experience includes communications, event planning, marketing, photography and national campaign coalition building and management. Fields is also an active volunteer serving the Junior League of Raleigh.

    Fields will assist in the First Lady's initiatives, including advocacy for domestic violence awareness. The state's First Lady is also working on building a stronger support system for spouses and children of North Carolina's military personnel. Mrs. McCrory will continue to pursue legislation that establishes basic standards of care for large commercial dog breeding facilities and ensures all dogs are treated humanely. Additionally Fields will work with the First Lady in supporting the North Carolina's USO, the Durham Rescue Mission, UNC Children's Hospital and the Scholastic Reading Ambassador program.
