    Mrs. Hillegonda Van Wyk Myers, age 92, a resident of Pantego, NC died Monday December 1, 2025, at Ridgewood Nursing Center in Washington.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday December 6, 2025, at Covenant United Reformed Church in Pantego officiated by Rev. Calvin Tuininga. A burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington. William Wallace, Keith Phelps, James Latham, Luke Van Vuren, Austin Van Vuren, and Nathaniel Wallace will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour Saturday at the church.

    Mrs. Helen was born in Long Island, NY on September 7, 1933, daughter of the late Lambert Van Wyk, Sr. and Adriana Blom Van Wyk. On October 13, 1953, she married the love of her life, Ellis Grey Myers, Sr. who preceded her in death on March 2, 2021. Mrs. Helen dedicated her time to her family by being a homemaker. With her Dutch heritage she loved baking, cooking, sewing, and flowers. Not only did she enjoy growing flowers she was very good at floral arranging. Her baking expertise allowed her to be a good cake decorator. She loved her church family as much as she did her biological family and chose to worship at Covenant United Reformed Church in Pantego.

    Mrs. Helen is survived by her children: Ellis G. "Sandy" Myers, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Pantego, David Lambert Myers and his wife Rosa of Belhaven, Geraldine Faye Guercio and her husband Rich of Long Island, NY, Brenda Joy Van Vuren and her husband Tony of Washington; a son-in-law: Mark Keyzer of Pantego; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren. She was preceded in death, along with her parents and husband by a daughter: Adrianna "Anna" Keyzer; grandchild: Isiac Keyzer; brothers: Lambert Van Wyk, Jr., and his wife Marian, and Cornelius "Case" Van Wyk and his wife Ellene.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Terra Ceia Christian School, 4428 Christian School Road, Pantego, NC 27860.
