Press release:

The Beaufort TEA Party has issued the following press release:

"The Beaufort Patriot TEA Party has endorsed Greg Brannon for the U. S. Senate in 2014. At its regular monthly meeting on October 17, 2013 the group voted unanimously to support and work for Brannon's election to replace Kay Hagan, a Democrat who has a record of voting more than 90% of the time for Barack Obama's socialist agenda for "transforming America."

Brannon is an obstetrician in Cary where he has practiced since 1993. He and his wife of 25 years have 7 children, several of whom are adopted. His website says "Brannon has for years traveled around the global on medical missionary expeditions as a volunteer. As an entrepreneur who built his practice from scratch he is very familiar with the damage ObamaCare is doing to health care in our nation."

Buzz Cayton, the Chairman of the Beaufort Patriot TEA Party, said:

Our TEA Party believes that Greg Brannon best represents the principles of the TEA Party: less government and more individual liberty through constitutionally limited government, individual responsibility, lower taxes to promote private enterprise by reducing government spending and a return to the Founding Principles that made this the greatest nation in human history. He knows that America cannot continue the spending and borrowing that robs our children and grandchildren's future. He has a clear vision of how Washington needs to be changed to get this nation back on the right path. And perhaps most of all, he is a man of Christian character who has committed to voting his principles rather than politics. He is just the right man at the right time to replace the train wreck we now have in Washington.

A search of this site for "Brannon" will bring up additional information about the candidate. He has been in Beaufort County, speaking to various groups, including the Beaufort Patriot TEA Party, on several occasions long before announcing his candidacy for the Senate. Cayton said: "anyone interested in becoming involved in helping Dr. Brannon turn this nation around should come to our TEA Party meetings between now and November 2014. We meet the third Thursday of each month in the west end of the Mt. Olive College Building. We would encourage you to go to www.beaufortpatriotteaparty.com.     Dr. Brannon offered the following response to the Beaufort Patriot TEA Party action:

"I greatly appreciate the work that the Beaufort Patriot Tea Party is doing. Recent primary elections in North Carolina and around the country have proven that the grassroots support of local TEA Party organizations can be decisive in a Republican primary. These are patriotic Americans, striving to restore constitutional, conservative principles to our country and I'm proud to have their support."
